haddad Toni is an independent photojournalist and underwater photographer based in Madagascar since 2014.
Photography was his reason for abandoning a career in strategic consultancy after several years in Dubai.

He travelled in South East Asia and lived in Cambodia and Malaysia to learn street photography and enhance his underwater diving skills.
Africa was calling, so he moved to Egypt and became a scuba and apnea dive instructor and the official underwater photographer for international apnea competitions in Dahab on the Red Sea.

Madagascar waters were his main attraction but once here, the social situation diverted his attention from the underwater to the people and their stories;

in -2015, he co-founded Zanaky ny Lalana (son of the streets) a photography collaborative that brings attention to social issues and abuse via digital and print media;

in -2017, he exhibited his observations of Madagascar in a work entitled «SarySahy» at Is’art Gallery ;

in -2018 he hung two permanent exhibitions «Conversation sous le Tamarinier» and «Madagascar DayToday» ;

in -2019 he exhibited at IKM « Tsena Mora  » ;

in -2020 he hung a collaborative work at Fondation H entitled « Malagasy People », he was awarded the African Cultural Fund which lead to a restitution entitled « Everyone No-one » at La Teinturerie ,

in -2021, he was part of an artistic residency with Alliance Française which fruited in a portrait series about the repercussions of covid-19 on the residents of Diego Suarez entitled « Regards Croises » . « #travellingarbage » was well travelled, a series on garbage and how it manages to slip back unnoticed into our lives, the result of 6 months of photographic research across the island,

in -2022, he hung a collaborative exhibition and message at Suzy’s Corner entitled « Identité ».

Today, he continues to explore the red island following interesting subjects and bringing objective light on topics of culture, society and environment.
